Standards-Based Grading Information Night
Curious about Standards-Based Grading and what it means for your student? 🤔 Join us at the next OPT (Organization of Parents & Teachers) Meeting to learn more!
Date: Tuesday, November 11th
Location: Frontier Academy Elementary Library
5:30–6:00 PM: Volunteer Orientation
6:00–7:00 PM: OPT Meeting
7:00–7:30 PM: Standards-Based Grading Presentation

Frontier Academy Elementary will conduct hearing and vision screenings on Tuesday, October 28th, 2025, during regular school hours. 👓
Who Will Be Screened:

Students in Grades K, 1, 2, 3, & 5.

All new students
-
Students with special education needs (per Colorado state guidelines)
These brief screenings are not full exams, but they help identify students who may need further evaluation. If your child wears prescription glasses or hearing aids, please ensure they bring and wear them to school that day.

If your child passes: You will not be contacted.

If your child does not pass: We will send home a note with next steps.
If you do not want your child to participate, please contact the health office for an opt-out form. Forms must be returned by October 27th, 2025.

Big Kahuna Fundraiser
Big Kahuna Fundraiser pickup is next week on WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 29TH, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM inside the MAD House!
Due to the perishable nature of the products and no storage space at the school, items must be picked up during the scheduled time. Please make arrangements to have your student's order picked up, and thank you for your support! 😀

Día de los Muertos Celebration & 3rd Grade Concert
Friday, November 7th from 5:00-7:00 PM
Location: Frontier Academy Elementary (K-5) Campus
Concerts:
- 5:30 PM: Students from Mrs. Neuhalfen, Mrs. Magley, and Mrs. Bowness (A–L)
- 6:00 PM: 3rd Grade – Students from Mrs. Baird, Mrs. Billings, and Mrs. Bowness (M–Z)
Food & Activities: 5:45–6:45 PM – Face painting, games, and delicious food provided by LULAC and our Spanish-speaking OPT.
Special Performance: 6:30 PM – Storytelling & dance in the gym while activities continue.
Safety & Access: Park anywhere and enter through the big gate between the buildings. Restrooms are in the gym. Please supervise children and avoid other areas of the school.

Uniform Return Reminder
Parents and families of Fall Season athletes — please ensure your student’s uniform is returned to their coach as soon as possible.
If a uniform is not returned, a Uniform Fee will be charged to your student’s account, and they may be required to sit out the first game of their next participating season.
