6-12 News

Secondary 6-12 Parent Teacher Conferences 😃

This September, we will continue to hold parent-teacher conferences for grades 6-12 via Zoom. These will be held on Wednesday, September 17th, and Thursday, September 18th 4:30 to 7:30 pm. We have received consistent positive feedback from parents regarding Zoom conferences. In particular, parents appreciate that there are no lines to wait in, and they know when each teacher is available. Additionally, teachers can now see more parents than before.

We will provide a form to sign up in advance via Sign Up Genius. If you would like to conference with a particular teacher, please watch for more information and sign-up links in the next few weeks. It is important that parents sign up well in advance of the conference date. Check your Spam folder for the emailed Zoom links as the date gets closer.  These Zoom link emails usually come via Sign Up Genius and not from the teacher's email accounts.

If it is more helpful to meet in person, teachers are available to meet after school throughout the year, by appointment only. Please work with individual teachers to arrange a meeting time.

Thank you for supporting our students and teachers!

Unfortunately, our High School Speech & Debate team will be terminated for this year. We did not have enough student interest to host a team. We will determine whether to keep the Middle School Speech & Debate team after today's practice. 🗨

MS Boys Basketball registration will open Monday, September 15th. Make sure to have an updated sports physical for your son, or he won't be able to try out! Reach out to our head coach with any questions: Joe Martinez at martinezj@frontieracademy.net 🏀

Last week, your son/daughter might have shared the athlete conference they experienced with Lead 'Em Up owner, Adam Bradley! The students were engaged, enthusiastic, and excited about the future of their programs. Several coaches met on Friday to discuss how we build off the momentum from the previous day. We felt this conference aligned with our Wolverine Commitments and began planning 3 more athlete sessions for the school year. Each session will focus on one of our commitments. Here is a rough timeline, but we have more details to finalize:

Mid-October – Commitment to Each Other (lunch sessions with athletes)

January – Commitment to Positivity (before-school morning session)

Late March/Early April – Commitment to Giving Your Best (Friday session to avoid missed class)
